    The Handover Meeting of the Fifth Editorial Board of the Chinese Journal of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases Successfully Held in Haikou
  • On December 13, 2025, National Institute of Parasitic Diseases, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research) (hereinafter referred to as "NIPD") convened the handover meeting of the fifth editorial board of Chinese Journal of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases in Haikou, Hainan. A total of 73 guests (41 offline and 32 online) attended the meeting, including Mr. Li Guanglin, Deputy Secretary-General of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association; Mrs. Zhao Chihong, Director, Department of Academic Publishing Management, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention; Dr. Li Shizhu, Director of NIPD; members of the sixth editorial board; and editorial staff. The meeting was hosted by Dr. Zheng Bin, Deputy Director of NIPD.

    Director Li Shizhu, Director Zhao Chihong, and Deputy Secretary-General Li Guanglin delivered speeches, respectively. They congratulated the building of the new editorial board, and emphasized that the journal editorial board serves as a crucial academic support to S & T journals, and is a guarantee for ensuring the correct direction and a cornerstone and core guarantee for the journal healthy development. Prof. Cao Jianping, Editor-in-Chief of the fifth editorial board of the journal, presented a working report on behalf of the fifth editorial board. Deputy Secretary-General Li Guanglin announced the approval for the handover of the editorial board of Chinese Journal of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases by Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, and issued the certificates of appointment to members of the sixth editorial board jointly with other leaders and guests. On behalf of members of the sixth editorial board, Professor Xu Wenyue from Army Medical University, advised members of the sixth editorial board to contribute to the high-quality journal development from the following three aspects: (1) upholding academic quality to attract top-tier research achievements; embracing digitalization and strengthening international cooperation; and supporting young scholars to jointly build an international exchange platform. Dr. Chen Qin, Director of the journal editorial department, released the charter of the editorial board of Chinese Journal of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases. Director Li Shizhu, Editor-in-Chief of the sixth editorial board, presented a working plan report on behalf of members of the sixth editorial board.

    Prof. Zhou Xiaonong, founding Editor-in-Chief of Science in One Health and Infectious Diseases of Poverty, and Dr. Zhao Chihong, Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Director of the Editorial Department of China CDC Weekly, shared their experiences in journal development. Finally, Director Li Shizhu presented concluding remarks on the meeting. He expressed the hope that members of the journal editorial board would become initiators of topic selection, organizers of manuscript soliciting, and guardians of quality and play an academic leading role to contribute to the journal development and increase the journal impact.
