Re-understanding of Liver Cirrhosis Induced by Schistosomiasis Japonica

Abstract: Whether the hepatic pipestem fibrosis induced by schistosomiasis japonica can result in cirrhosis,confu-sion exists among parasitologists in China. Evidence from national and international pathologists and clinicians confirmed that the pipestem fibrosis could develop into cirrhosis undoubtedly. Owing to different pathogenic causes, the characters of cirrhosis are different. To re-understand cirrhosis induced by schistosomiasis japonica is of significance for the diagno-sis and treatment of the advanced patient.
