Abstract:

Angiostrongyliasis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by Angiostrongylus cantonensis infection, with snails and rodents as its major reservoir and transmission hosts. With the development of international trade, and tourism and changes of ecological environments, the interaction of human-animal-environment interface is becoming more and more frequent, resulting in a significant increase in the risk of angiostrongyliasis transmission. The One Health concept advocates a systematic response to public health challenges through interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaborations. Based on the One Health perspective, this article systematically reviews the life cycle, epidemiological characteristics, clinical diagnosis and treatment of A. cantonensis, and A. cantonensis infections in host animals, analyzes the environmental factors associated with the development and transmission of angiostrongyliasis, and proposes angiostrongyliasis control strategies, with aims to reduce angiostrongyliasis transmission risk and achieve the healthy and coordinated development of humans, animals and environmental ecology.
