Abstract: Echinococcosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by the larval stages (metacestodes) of cestodes belonging to the genus Echinococcus. Echinococcosis is a major public health problem in many countries and regions. The epidemiological study of echinococcosis would contribute to the control and elimination of this disease. This paper summarizes the research status and progress on epidemiology of echinococcosis.
