Abstract: Three towns with reported echinococcosis cases and five randomly selected towns were chosen and Echinococcus infection in pupils （7-12 years old） was investigated serologically in 2008. The sero-positive rate （IgG） was 0.9%（25/2 768）. There was no significant statistical difference on the IgG positive rate between rural and urban areas （χ²=2.82, P>0.05）, males and females （χ²=0.32, P>0.05）.
