Abstract: The paper presented parasitic infections in elderly people aged 61-81 years in Henan based on data collected in the provincial investigation that coincided with the nationwide survey of parasite distribution. Twenty two species of human parasites were detected in stool examination covering 5 421 people in 164 pilot sites of 39 counties/cities. Of the discovered parasites, Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura , hookworm, Enterobius vermicularis, Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia were those with high infection rate and extensive distribution. The infections of these 6 species of parasites in senile people were discussed and control measures were suggested.
