Abstract: From 1987 to 1992, a sampling survey on human parasitoses was carried out in Sichuan by using 5 conventional methods. A total of 97 159 persons (compliance rate of 94.1%) on 196 random sampling spots of 44 counties were examined. Twenty seven species of parasites were revealed during the survey, showing a total infection rate of 82.1% in the population. Of the parasites detected, 9 were new records of the province. The items of computerized data amounted to ca. 10 million. The number of persons probably to contract parasite infections was estimated to be over 80 million. The result exhibited the seriousness of parasitic infections in public health in Sichuan. The epidemiological factors of human parasitoses were concurrently interpreted.
