Stool examination was made on 601 people. Among them, 294 samples revealed parasite-positive, the infection rate being 58.7%. Among the examined persons, 176 out of 262 males were parasite-positive, showing an infection rate of 67.2%; while 118 of 233 females were positive for parasites with an infection rate of 49.4%. Ascarid, pinworm, whipworm, and Clonorchis sinensis were helminths being detected, the respective infection rates were 34.3%, 4.6%, 1.2% aud 17.1%. Others were protozoa and yeast, the former included Entamoeba coli, Endolimax nana, Chilomastix meslini and Hartmannella sp. Fifty children under 14 years old were examined by the method of adhesive-tape-swab for Trichuris trichiura, 23 were positive, the infection rate being 46%. Of the anfected persons, 16 were males and 7 were females, the infection rates being 61.6 % ind 36.8%,respectively,exhibiting no significant difference between them(x2 = 1.0347, P0.06). The age group of 1-9 years old showed the highest infection rate (60.9%). while that of 10-19 years old showed the lowest.
