Abstract: This paper dealt with the application of oxygen electrode technique in the studies on metabolism of Schistoma japonicum. The rate of respiration, as well as the consumption of glucose of schistosomes, was satisfactorily determined by this method.Since the oxygen electrode technique is more convenient and more sensilive than the manometric method, it would be applicable to investigations on the aerobic metabolism of other parasites.
