DISTRIBUTION OF HUMAN INTESTINAL PARASITES IN INNER MONGOLIA

Abstract: An investigation on human intestinal parasite distribution was conducted in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region during 1989-1991. A total of 30 713 persons (a coverage of 94.3% of the residents) were under coprological examination, revealing a total infection rate of 23.8%. The infection rates for Ascaris lumbricoides, Enterobius vermicularis, Entamoeba histolytica, Entamoeba coli were shown to be 16.6%, 5.2%, 1.8%, and 1.7%, respectively ; whereas those for other species were less than 1.0%. The distribution of intestinal parasites in areas of different landscapes and economic levels as well as sex , age , occupation ,nationality based analyses was presented.
