Abstract: A total of 2074 people of Guiyang City were investigated for detecting intestinal parasitization for the first time. It was shown that the overall infection rate was 73.3%, the highest infection rate being in Machang village, Qiantao Town of Huaxi District (up to 93.7%). Thirteen species of parasite were found, of which the commonest were roundworm (66.4%),whipworm(27.7%) and hookworm(7.9%).No significant difference was found between men in the infection rate and women. The infection rate was found to decrease with the increase of age. It is clear that the prevention and treatment of human intestinal parasitization should be further carried out,especially in the juveniles and children.
