Abstract: Based on the unified requirements and standardized methods determined by tha nationwide program of human parasite investigation, a sampling survey of human darasites was carried out on 100 spots in 23 counties of Jiangxi Province during 1988-1989. Fecal examination on 52146 people revealed parasite infection in 41822, the infection rate being 80.2%. Twenty species of human parasites were detected from the infected persons. Parasitism with 1,2,3,4 and 6 species was recorded 47.9%, 26.4%, 6.2%, 0.7% and 0.1%, respectively. The number of parasite species, their wide distribution as well as the status of prevalence call for active and comprehensive planning of parasitoses control in the province.
