摘要： An axenic culture of a local human strain of Giardia lamblia in suckling gerbil(Meriones ungui-culatus)was established in a modified TYI-S-33 medium.Cysts of G.lamblia isolated from the freshfeces of a Giardia-Infected boy in Beijing rural area were inoculated into suckling gerbils.Trophozoitesof G.lamblia obtained from the intestine of infected animals were cultivated in modified TYI-S-33medium added with dehydrated bovine bile.The parasites grew luxuriantly and formed an intensivemonolayer on the surface of the culture tube on day 14 after initial cultivation.The culture has beenmaintained sor more than 3 months and more than 24 subcultures have been made.The growth curve
